ANTIPOLO, BAAO, CS—200 seedlings of trees were planted in Tan-awan, Barangay Antipolo, Baao, Cam. Sur last November 20, 2011 in the observance of Coop month activity as practiced in yearly activity.
The activity is a project of Baao Parish Multi-Purpose Cooperative in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- CENRO Iriga City, the LGU government thru the barangay council of Antipolo, Baao, Camarines Sur and Ms. Helen Bigay, the lot owner of the site.
The local activity hopes to significantly contribute to the national program of the government which aims to plant 1.5 billion trees in the next 5 years all over the country.
The BPMPCO hopes that thru this local activity, all sectors will be mobilized and actively participate in all endeavors to protect the environment. All the coop officers and staff, together with the barangay council of Antipolo, participated during the planting day.
The BPMPCO has its purpose of raising awareness that there is still that need to plant trees, to preserve our trees, and keep our trees in the mountains. Also we encourage the youth to actively participate in doing such activity rather than spending their weekends unwisely.
The venue of the planting activity is very important as it is home sooner to be developed as the tourist spot of the Municipality of Baao.
